Glass

Simon Waranch

The Glass program is informed by the material properties of glass and its history in decorative art, science, and industry. Here, students learn the technical aspects of blowing, casting, and coldworking while also learning to solve problems, innovate their own techniques, and develop conceptual ideas. The work is research-driven, as makers look critically at the material, integrate interdisciplinary practices, and utilize new technologies.

The only degree-granting program of its kind in Michigan, CCS Glass is housed in a state-of-the-art studio with both hot and cold shops.
